adventures made simple
If you’ve landed on this page, we know that you like to feel prepared so we’ve tried to answer as much as possible in our FAQs. If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for, send us a message and we’d be happy to help you out.
Do I/we need to stay at the resort to use the water amenities?
Absolutely not! Our pool facility is available for anyone, guests or non guests.
Where is the resort located?
We’re nestled next to Soda Creek in the small town of Idaho Springs (COLORADO)—conveniently located directly off I-70 and only 30 minutes from Denver. We’ve collected some of our favorite experiences around Idaho Springs so you can plan for a jam-packed day or stay with us to take a little longer to explore our community.
When are you open?
Thanks to the magic of magma, our sparkling dome, we’re open year round. The mineral pool is open daily from 8:00am - 9:30pm, the caves from 8:30am - 9:00pm and the private baths from 8:00am - 9:30pm. Please check our hours table for complete open and close times located in the navigation bar and footer. Occasionally, there are days that we’re closed in order to do maintenance and work on exciting updates. Please check our calendar to see our full schedule ahead of your visit.
Do I need to make a reservation to soak?
We do not require reservations for our mineral pool or caves Monday - Friday. Our mineral pool is separated into four time slots on the weekends and our caves require reservations. Please refer to our Hot Springs tab to learn more! If you’re looking for the privacy of an outdoor tub or Roman-style private bath, you can book your time up to 14 days in advance online.
What should I bring along for my soak?
While we have a gift shop onsite that’s got you covered if you forget something, most guests choose to bring a swimsuit and sandals along with goggles or other items to make the most of your soak. Some visitors choose to bring small toiletries to shower with afterward, and while we have towels available on site, you’re also welcome to bring your own. We have lockers available for guests and padlocks available for purchase but we cannot be held liable for any private property and suggest that you keep valuables locked in your vehicle and out of sight. Feel free to stay hydrated and bring a water bottle but for the safety of our visitors please leave your glass bottles, food, and coolers at home or stowed in your vehicle.
What should I bring along for my stay at the resort?
We have toiletries and most items you’d need available for purchase at our gift shop but if you’re the kind of person who likes to plan ahead, we usually suggest packing sunscreen, warm layers for chilly nights outdoors, and any other items you’d want for a mountain excursion. While we do have fans available to borrow, we recommend bringing your own fan in the summer months as the resort doesn't have air conditioning.
Is there parking on-site?
Yep, we’ve got plenty of parking available for all types of vehicles and can accommodate most vans and RVs but please reach out to us first if you have an extra-large vehicle.
Are the hot springs similar to pool water?
Because the mineral water bubbles up from the core of the Earth, it smells a little differently than a pool but also offers health benefits that ordinary pools don’t. The natural mineral waters are an excellent source of vitamins for your skin and hair, and in order to ensure your safety, a minimal amount of chlorine is used in our pools. We recommend that you leave your jewelry at home as the mineral water can damage certain types of metals.
Can my whole family visit?
Absolutely, we love hosting families! While there are certain experiences like the Geothermal Caves and Club Mud that have age requirements, both the mineral pool and private baths are excellent options for visitors of all ages. Please keep in mind that the mineral pool does not have a lifeguard on duty so we require children to be with adults at all times.
If I’m coming for a stay, when should I plan to check in and check out?
